Overview

Wedgwood serves inventive, modern Scottish dishes – inspired by fresh local ingredients. Chef Paul Wedgwood is a big believer in the quality of raw ingredients and goes to unusual lengths to find just the right products, whether that is dealing with countless artisan suppliers or foraging wild salad leaves and herbs for the next day's lunch dishes. The menu changes seasonally and includes dishes like baked hake served with kale, saffron mash, smoked salmon basil and lemon butter. There are so many tempting options, Wedgwood has introduced ‘Deciding Time' where guests are given canapés and a glass of Champagne while they ponder the menu. The ambiance is relaxed and informal, service efficient but unhurried. There is a private dining room downstairs that seats 18.

I first tried the food at Wedgwood when I visited Edinburgh the first time. I tried their lunch menu and noticed their food is very good. I didn't book but just walked in that day but lucky because it's kind of late so I got a table right away. I had their pork belly dish and enjoyed it so much I had to book to go back there for dinner the next day. Their tasting menu does not disappoint me. All the dishes are excellent and the flavor combinations work perfectly. Their staffs are all very friendly. I have a wonderful time dinning there. I only stayed in Edinburgh for a few days and tried a few good restaurants but Wedgwood surely stands out the most. I would highly recommend it to anyone who visit the city!

I brought my husband for his 30th birthday and it was, genuinely, the best meal we have had together. The atmosphere was chic and relaxed and the staff were very friendly and approachable. I had spiced monkfish with crab bhajis and lentils and it was absolutely delicious. My husband went for Fillet and shin of Buccleuch beef and he enjoyed every single mouthful. We had deserts and a bottle of wine and I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonably priced everything was for the standard of food we ate and the wine we drank. A fantastic restaurant and a good location for a special occasion. We will definitely be back!

From arriving early evening when there was a few tables in use until we left a full house this was a luscious experience! The ambience, the ecosphere, the staff, the service and the food all came together to provide the moment. We were seated quickly and with a warm felt welcome. Staff were polite , helpful, attentive, personable and pleasant. Taking time to affirm our experience at each course. From the arrival of the fresh baked bread the food was tasty without losing the flavours of the ingredients, with the taste buds being gently titillated time after time! Thank you Wedgwood.

Having booked a month or so earlier to make sure we had a booking to celebrate our anniversary at this celebrated eatery, imagine the disappointment when it turned out I'd got the date wrong and we were a week early-argh! The staff excelled themselves, found us a table and sent us to a near-by bar as our table was an hour later.....on our return they greeted us like long lost friends...the food is amazing and deserves its accolades (the sticky toffee pudding is to die for!) this review is to commend their terrific staff..... thanks!

My wife and I visited Edinburgh for her birthday. This was the first meal we had after the train from Glasgow and I'm so glad I picked it. It was fantastic. We had the two courses lunch which was quite a good deal. Amanda our server was very nice. Two course lunch for two, fresh focaccia bread (a definate must have) and several drinks for about $80. Definately worth it and worth a visit. We wished we had gone back for dinner. So if Edinburgh this comes highly recommended from a couple of foodies!

Popped in here by chance, and was pleasantly surprised. They have a fixed price lunch menu for 15 pounds, which I thought was a great deal. I had an absolutely lovely salad with fried black pudding croutons (could have used more greens maybe though), and a lovely fish dish on curried pureed cauliflower. The service was attentive without being bothersome, and the dining room itself was very pleasant.

The food was excellent from starter, to main and dessert. Ingredients were fresh and dishes were creative. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Good selection of whisky. Excellent value for money - I will definitely come back if I am going to Edinburgh again.

Have gone every year for the last 3 years on this day and it always meets our expectations. The servings are not big but really well produced and beautifully presented. The staff are lovely and very welcoming which is unusual after a few years.

A thoughtfully put together meal with wonderful ingredients that combined beautifully while keeping their individual flavors. So glad we passed by early and managed to find an available table for two!
