This 30-room Georgian mansion set on the shores of Lake Windermere gets our vote when it comes to a holiday to remember in the Lake District. You can see the lake and mountains from the majority of rooms, and the 17-acre garden isn't exactly an eyesore. The décor is contemporary and each room has been individually designed and decorated. Its setting in the heart of Dartmoor National Park next to the River Dart, rolling hills and a cluster of trees, is like something out of a fairy-tale.
