Ten of the Best Hotels with a View by Amanda Statham

"You’ll see people reach for their smartphone when they arrive, because it’s one of those places that you can’t help but Instagram from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Its setting in the heart of Dartmoor National Park next to the River Dart, rolling hills and a cluster of trees, is like something out of a fairy-tale. The interior is a little faded yet still magical (it’s not going to win any minimalist design awards!) and while some of the 33 rooms have large ornate beds, all have fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Locally sourced dishes like pheasant stew with rosemary gnocchi ensure the restaurant is buzzing, which, combined with the panorama, make this a must-visit hotel for a weekend break."

The Top Ten National Park Hotels by Greg Cook

"Set in the heart of Dartmoor’s 368 square miles of wild, granite strewn moorland, the Two Bridges hotel in Priceton is an oasis of comfort and calm. The 33 room hotel boasts spectacular views all round, and it’s 60 acres of pet-friendly grounds lead down to the very edge of the babbling River Dart. Despite it’s splendid isolation the hotel and accompanying Tors Restaurant has gained a reputation for excellence that draws diners and guests from across Devon and beyond."

Top Ten Pet Friendly Hotels by Ursula Hirschkorn

"Set in the heart of Dartmoor National Park the luxurious Two Bridges Hotel offers a warm welcome to dogs. Dogs stay for free in standard rooms or, if you opt to upgrade to a premier room, there is a £10 housekeeping charge. While owners are expected to bring their own dog bedding, they can order food from the hotel’s special menu of ‘Doggy Delights’."

Review of Two Bridges Hotel

We went here on the off chance, having driven passed before and our planned holiday having been cut short.
1 night dinner, bed and breakfast. All faultless. The rooms were lovely, even the disabled access one! The bar was warm and welcoming, if a bit lacking in local cider! And the restaurant was fabulous!
It was a Saturday night and they had a lady playing a harp, the dining room was peaceful and intimate, but the food topped it all!
We went back in Dec with friends for a longer stay, just the thing to escape Christmas pressure.

We decided we wanted a night away. We have travelled past this hotel a 1000 times as we live close by. We booked it without fuss, arrived a disk and was well received. The room was cosy and warm, lots of character. We also had an evening meal which was fabulous. Wonderful overnight get away, going again. Staff were really nice

Having passed by on many occasions this was our first stay at the Two Bridges hotel.
We arrived late afternoon on a very wet evening after a long journey so it was very welcome to be greeted so warmly,
We were shown to our room which was furnished with a fabulous for poster bed. We were travelling with our pet westie and it was nice that treats and toys had been provided for her.
We had chosen a dinner b&b package and made our way downstairs for pre dinner drinks in the bar/ lounge which is furnished with enormous comfortable leather sofas, there were two fireplaces both with fires lit giving a lovely post Christmas atmosphere.
The meal we had was exceptional ,with a selection of breads and flavoured butters to start, as well as an amuse bouche.
All in all a fabulous one night stopover and great value.
