From luxurious suites high in the canopy to handcrafted hideaways nestled deep in the forest, the UK is home to some truly extraordinary treehouse escapes. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a family adventure, or simply craving a peaceful retreat in nature, these unique stays offer something truly special. We’ve handpicked five of the best treehouse experiences across the UK - where luxury meets the wild.

Set deep in an enchanted Dorset Woodland – within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - Woodman’s Tree House is set high in the branches of three magnificent oaks. A RIBA award-winning design, you may have spotted it on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces. Luxury comes as standard, with a king-sized bed, a double-ended copper bath with giant picture window and a revolving fireplace; big kids will love whooshing down the stainless-steel slide. On the upper deck, you’ll find your very own private spa where you can toast in the sauna and bubble in the hot tub. Cool off in the open-air tree shower with forest views to die for.

The Birdhouse is a Scandi-inspired, self-contained hideaway, located on a beautiful Organic farm in south Somerset, two miles from the town of Crewkerne. Tucked amongst the trees, in its own private garden, the treehouse takes its name from the bird song that fills the forest. The hand-crafted interiors are cool, calm and open-plan; outside, you’ll find a BBQ and a firepit – so you can toast marshmallows beneath the Milky Way. The Birdhouse has its own private spa too, complete with an infrared sauna and wood-fired hot tub nestled amongst the native ferns.

Situated in six acres of grounds on the River Taw, midway between Dartmoor and Exmoor, The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel makes for a serene escape. The pièce de résistance is the luxury two-bedroom treehouse, which sits beside a trout-filled pond in the lower fields beyond the hotel gardens. Nestled in the crown of a 250-year-old oak tree, with views over Heywood Forest, this five-metre-high hideaway has a log burner, copper bath and a private platform for fishing afficionados. Kids will love watching resident wildlife – owls, bats and squirrels – before climbing into the bunk beds carved into the walls.

Indulge your childhood fantasies and spend a night suspended 35-feet above the ground within the tree canopy. Situated in the edge of the New Forest, on the Hampshire/Dorset border, Chewton Glen’s Tree House suites mix nature with all the luxuries you expect from a 5-star hotel. Along with a private terrace and hot tub, concierge is on hand to cater to all your whims. Expect daily breakfast hampers and a delicious room service menu should you wish to hole yourself up in complete privacy. If you can tear yourself away, the hotel’s luxury spa is just a stone’s throw away.

Families will love Dittisham Hideaway, with treehouses set amongst the canopy in the Devonshire countryside, near Dartmouth. With a king-sized bedroom, a triple bunk bedroom and two bathrooms – the treehouse can happily accommodate up to two adults and three children (under 16) plus an infant. Snuggle up together in front of a film in the cosy lounge with its underfloor heating and wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fully kitted out with all essentials, including a Nespresso coffee maker and a small herb garden on the balcony. Feast out on the large deck, swing in the hammock or slip into the wood-fired hot tub once the kids are in bed.
