We all know Britain has some fabulous shopping destinations, and there is nothing better than shopping for the season's ‘must haves' or a special occasion outfit. However too many of us end up rushing around and choosing something we don't love for lack of time. My advice? Use the whole weekend and book yourself into one of these ten luxury hotels. Go with girlfriends or a family member if you shop better as a duo/trio/foursome but I think go it alone! Just you, the clothes and the accessories – a perfect way to get some valuable ‘me-time'.

I'm a West country girl and lived in Bristol while working for the Western Daily Press. I was lucky enough to be in situ as Cabot Circus was built - a fantastic shopping destination that mixes high street favourites with pop-up boutiques and special events. House of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, River Island and New Look all have huge stores here. Stay in the nearby Hotel du Vin & Bistro and enjoy a glass of vino after your day of shopping in the Janneau Bar or adjoining Christies Library.
