Hotel du Vin Bristol is set inside a grade II listed restored Sugar House and the owners have carefully created a boutique-feel inn while maintaining much of the character of the building.
The 40 rooms are brimming with original features, from the exposed brick feature walls to the gorgeous double-height design of the loft suites. Expect hand sprung mattresses, Egyptian linens, roll-top baths, drench showers, plasma TVs and air conditioning as standard.
The bistro, all primrose yellow pannelled walls, wood floors, Parisian café-style tables and chairs, soft lighting and wine bottles aplenty, serves European dishes with a relaxed, informal vibe. Oh, and there's even a library to steal a good read.
