Discover Hanbury Hall, a wonderful tribute of the Georgian era
Hanbury Hall, in the William and Mary style, was completed in 1701. The staircase, leading from the dark panelled hall, has its walls covered with murals by Sir James Thornhill. In the dining room, which still has its original ceiling, the fireplace is surrounded by fine Rococo work and there are more murals by Thornhill. Also on display is the Watney collection of fine porcelain. The reconstructed 18th century garden, surrounded by over 300 acres of parkland, has an orangery that is a miniature of the one at Kensington Palace.
