This is probably the most popular course we run here. The May course is sold out so this course is your final oppourtunity to create your own wire hen with Chris Moss.

Wire sculptor, Chris Moss, will be leading this day long course and will expertly guide you through making your own wire hen. It is a perfect step-up for people who have made smaller wire sculptures on the half-day workshops and now wish to make something more challenging, but also suitable for beginners

All materials are provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

Stillingfleet Lodge's annual wildlife day will be on the 30th June 2024, part of National Insect Week. Local wildlife charities join us to make this a day packed  with activities and information about the wildlife across Yorkshire. Activities include pond-dipping, bird-ringing and owl- pellet dissection plus a chance to meet bats and reptiles - there is always something for the whole family.

Stillingfleet Lodge Garden is open as part of the National Garden Scheme. The NGS is a registered charity and all admission fees on the day plus 10% of money from plant sales will be donated to the charity.

In September the garden is full of colour, with plants in the herbaceous border in full bloom and the trees taking on an autumn tint. Look out for the many butterflies that enjoy this wildlife friendly garden.

This will be an informal tour with the garden owner, Vanessa who will provide you with plenty of tips on the best plants to grow to give you beautiful borders throughout the year. You will also learn how the garden is managed for wildlife and Vanessa will highlight some of the many ways she has blended stunning planting with being a wildlife-friendly garden.

The walk is included in the garden admission for the afternoon, but is on a first-come-first-served basis. There will only be 12 places, so make sure you get on the list when you arrive at the hut!

Start is at 2:00pm prompt and will last about an hour, so plenty of time afterwards for refreshments and a visit to the plant nursery.

RHS Garden Wisley holds part of the National Collection of Pelargonium, in particular the species, species hybrids, stellars, miniature stellars, dwarf zonals and zonartics.  The collection can be seen during May-June in The Glasshouse and over the summer in the wider garden in container displays.

Join the National Sweet Pea Society for their early national show – an extravaganza for the senses.  Enjoy the stunning displays of sweet pea competition classes, container grown sweet peas and cut flower displays in a huge variety of colours.
The exhibition hall at Hilltop will be filled with colour and the wonderful, unmistakable scent from these beautiful flowers.

Visitors can purchase bunches of cut sweet peas from 3.30pm on Thurs 27th.
Visitors can also purchase seeds from one of the UK’s top growers and take part in talks and demonstrations on growing and caring for sweet peas for success in their own gardens. Included in normal garden admission.
