Pub quiz fan? The Working Boat crew hosts a quiz every Sunday from 7:30 PM, with plenty of prizes to be won (including a bounty of beers from local brewery Lacuna) all in aid of a local Cornish charity. The quiz will take place in our cosy pub by the water.

Our Head Chef Bobby has expertly crafted and curated a delicious six-course menu, priced at £69 per person, to tantalise the taste buds and give you a glimpse into all that our coastal region has to offer.

Expect to indulge in a six-course tasting menu that is heavily influenced by traditional Cornish recipes with a modern Greenbank twist. Take your seat in our Water’s Edge restaurant, which boasts panoramic views of the River Fal as Bobby chats informally throughout the courses – you may even pick up some tips and tricks for your own cooking at home. Our wine flight has been carefully curated by our expert sommelier Kai Keating, with each glass perfectly paired to every forkful. This will be an additional £30 per person on the night.

Music is at the heart of Cornish culture, and we can’t wait to celebrate it in the summer of 2025 at one of the biggest maritime music concerts anywhere in Europe. Falmouth Sea Shanty festival is a must-see. Groups travel from far and wide, for an event that promises to fill the town with music and infuse Falmouth with a great community spirit.

At our last event we welcomed crowds of shanty fans to our private quay to sing-along to the sounds of the sea in the sunshine. The Sea Shanty Festival welcomes over 65 international groups performing across 25 different venues in Falmouth, from intimate pub settings to open-air stages. Our harbour view stage will be returning, and we’ll be announcing our headline acts soon.

Europe’s largest free nautical music festival returns to Falmouth this June and it promises to be a good old knees up.

Expect thigh-slapping, beer-swashing, shanty-singing good times as venues across Falmouth host shanty bands from around the world. As proud sponsors of the festival, our beer tent will once again be one of the main stages for this incredibly popular Falmouth event.

Head down to our private quay, where you can watch 20 fantastic acts sing the songs of the sea whilst you admire the harbour views. We’ll be serving a range of Cornish ales, beers and other beverages.

What’s more, on the Sunday our famous roast will be served in the Working Boat as usual. With the hustle and bustle of the festival going on outside, booking is essential to bag yourself a table. So, get ready to sink a few pints and start toe-tapping to the shanties!

Putting the sweet and sour in happy hour, every Friday from 5pm until late, our Cocktail Club serves two tipples for £12. Whether you like something sweet and smooth, or sharp and strong, served neat, or on the rocks – let us whip up your favourite cocktails to be savoured by the sea.

With Falmouth already alive with the buzz of the Sea Shanty Festival, the weekend just got even better as we welcome the arrival of 2025’s Falmouth Classics. A prestigious three-day regatta of racing, parades and onshore events, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss…

Since it began in 1987, Falmouth Classics has steadily grown to be one of the largest Classic sailing events in the UK. We’re so lucky to have the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy this nautical spectacle alongside the Sea Shanty festivities here on the edge of the water.

Just in time for the Sea Shanty Festival, The Greenbank makes for a wonderful vantage point. With uninterrupted views out over the harbour, this promises to be a weekend filled with all things nautical. Delight in this unique experience as 2025’s Falmouth Classics sail on by. Tap your toe to the jovial soundtrack of singing sailors, pint in hand.

Falmouth is recognised as having some of the best sailing waters in the world. From 14th to 16th June, Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay will be full of sails of all types, shapes and colours. Ranging in size from 9ft right up to 150ft or more, these incredible vessels include the famous Falmouth Working Boats, after which our very own pub, The Working Boat, is named.

Revel in the anticipation over three days of racing, and marvel in their full glory during the Parade of Classic Boats and the Small Classic Boat Parade. A lively social programme includes the Haven and Welcome Receptions, the Classics Supper, and the Classics Maritime Village. What’s more, there’ll be rowing and sculling races, as well as public viewings of the boats.

Why not make the most of the incredible vantage point that we’re so lucky to have here at The Greenbank? Downstairs, you can grab a frosty beer or a glass of something chilled. Feeling peckish?Our talented chefs will be knocking up a range of mouth-watering dirty fries in our ‘mar-quay’. It’s weekends like this that remind us just how lucky we are here on the water’s edge.

Join us on Saturday 26th July 2025 for a thrilling event on our waterfront. Experience the prestigious annual Dragon Boat Race in Falmouth, as the Carrick Roads are decorated with the vibrant colours of boats.

Head down to The Working Boat, let us pour you a refreshing pint of local ale, and make yourself comfy on our private quay as the races get underway.

This prestigious national sailing race returns to Falmouth again this summer.

Setting off from our pontoons, watch the brightly coloured boats race up and down from The Greenbank shoreline with a pint in hand.

At this free event, you can expect to enjoy a thrilling day of Dragon Boat racing, with teams competing throughout the day to take home the winning title. Spectator, winner or loser, there’ll be lots on offer. If you’d like to join us for food booking is recommended.

So, head on down to the quay on 26th July 2025 and back your favourite boat with a pint in hand. The question is, who will take the title this year?

Join us for our murder mystery in Cornwall. On Saturday 22nd February, step through the grand oak doors of The Great Hall, into the raunch of 1930s Paris, for a night of glamour, intrigue, and suspense. 

You’re invited to rub shoulders with the Bohemians and aristocrats at the infamous Moulin Rouge. The greatest show on earth is about to take place, an electrifying affair for fresh eyes, but nothing out of the ordinary for the seasoned cabaret performers. That is until, an astonishing crime is committed under everyone’s noses, and a thrilling show turns into something far more sinister.

Pay close attention as the evening unfolds, and be careful not to get swept up in the charm and razzle dazzle, as everyone has a motive for keeping you on their side. Whilst you dine on our four-course, French-inspired menu, listen out for clues between courses, interrogate the suspects, and try to identify the killer in the room. 

Appearances are everything at the Moulin Rouge, so we’d like you to dress to impress. Turn heads in burlesque, feather-lined corsets, shimmy your way to your seat in glitzy flapper dresses, or suit up for the occasion with your best tailcoat and top hat. Don’t be fooled by anyone’s exterior, it could all just be a cover up act. 

Things are hotting up at our hotel on the hill as we welcome five Cornish chefs to Truro to showcase their culinary skills and represent their corner of the county at our Great Coast-to-Coast Charity Dinner. On 27th February 2025, take your seat in The Great Hall for a gourmet extravaganza and help us raise money for our beloved industry charity, Hospitality Action. 

The Alverton kitchen will be bursting at the seams with some of Cornwall’s most talented chefs for this friendly evening of exceptional food and wines, prepared by some of the most gifted chefs from our shores.

Raising money for Hospitality Action

All of the proceeds from our charity dinner will be donated to Hospitality Action, an organisation close to our hearts, that offers support to people who work, or have previously worked in the hospitality sector, helping them back on their feet during challenging times – whether that’s poor physical or mental health issues, financial troubles, battles with addiction or difficulties at home.

On 5th March 2025, our Head Chef Ollie Wyatt will be hosting an intimate tasting evening at The Alverton. The evening will be a celebration of Truro and will highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest from our ‘Great Little City’.

Falling on St Piran’s Day, what better place to celebrate the patron saint of Cornwall from than our oasis in the capital city. Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm sit down, then indulge in a five course tasting menu, and raise a glass to St Piran with us.

Tickets are £60 per person. This includes a five course tasting menu, that has heavy influences of traditional Cornish recipes with a modern Alverton twist.

Head Chef Ollie has used his knowledge and experience of Cornwall’s incredible food and drink offering to create a bespoke menu filled with expertly curated and distinctly Cornish dishes that will both excite and tantalise the taste buds.

Savour the flavours of local land and sea with duck prosciutto and salt-baked celeriac. Then taste native brill with potato terrine, followed by venison loin. Finish on a sweet note with “Kernow” apple cake, named after our gorgeous county.

On Friday 13th June, our chefs will be rolling out a lobster feast, with all the trimmings, cooked on our konro grill. Caught locally in the Cornish waters, tuck into our succulent lobster, served al fresco style on our outdoor terrace, overlooking The Alverton gardens.

Arrive in style to a flute full of freshly-poured bubbles to sip on as you take your seat on our sun-soaked terrace. Of course, Lobster on the Lawn wouldn’t be complete without the star of the show. Sourced from the pristine waters of Truro’s circling coastlines, from lobster pot to plate, savour the freshest seafood tasting experience of the summer. 

Our Head Chef, Ollie Wyatt, is expertly trained in preparing delights caught from our Cornish oceans, and this particular menu heroes the nation’s favourite crustacean – the lobster. Seen as decadent and luxurious, Ollie is stripping back the frills and serving a menu that focuses on the beauty of simplicity – with ingredients that enhance the already rich and sweet natural flavours of this meaty shellfish.

Tickets to our Lobster on the Lawn event are £50 per person. This includes our rustic lobster feast and an arrival glass of fizz. We have limited tickets for this exclusive event, with tables being available every 15 minutes from 5pm until 7pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booked time slot so that we can accommodate you.

All of the proceeds from our charity dinner will be donated to Hospitality Action, an organisation close to our hearts, that offers support to people who work, or have previously worked in the hospitality sector, helping them back on their feet during challenging times – whether that’s poor physical or mental health issues, financial troubles, battles with addiction or difficulties at home.

On 5th March 2025, our Head Chef Ollie Wyatt will be hosting an intimate tasting evening at The Alverton. The evening will be a celebration of Truro and will highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest from our ‘Great Little City’.

Falling on St Piran’s Day, what better place to celebrate the patron saint of Cornwall from than our oasis in the capital city. Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm sit down, then indulge in a five course tasting menu, and raise a glass to St Piran with us.

On Friday 13th June, our chefs will be rolling out a lobster feast, with all the trimmings, cooked on our konro grill. Caught locally in the Cornish waters, tuck into our succulent lobster, served al fresco style on our outdoor terrace, overlooking The Alverton gardens.

Arrive in style to a flute full of freshly-poured bubbles to sip on as you take your seat on our sun-soaked terrace. Of course, Lobster on the Lawn wouldn’t be complete without the star of the show. Sourced from the pristine waters of Truro’s circling coastlines, from lobster pot to plate, savour the freshest seafood tasting experience of the summer. 

Our Head Chef, Ollie Wyatt, is expertly trained in preparing delights caught from our Cornish oceans, and this particular menu heroes the nation’s favourite crustacean – the lobster. Seen as decadent and luxurious, Ollie is stripping back the frills and serving a menu that focuses on the beauty of simplicity – with ingredients that enhance the already rich and sweet natural flavours of this meaty shellfish.

From family do’s, to friendship group get-togethers, or the big company Christmas bash – there’s nothing better than having an end of year event to look forward to. We’re here to take the pressure off the party planning, from the seating plans and dietary requirements, to the personalised touches and the entertainment for the evening. Our Christmas party menu has been tinkered with and crafted to perfection by our Executive Chef Nick Hodges. Each dish packs flavour and flair, with a Christmassy twist – from the confit chicken and duck rillette with a seasonal helping of spiced cranberry chutney, to turkey paupiette with rosemary garlic roast potatoes and all the trimmings, line-caught catch of the day from the Atlantic to your plate, and a tempting choice between chocolate orange, Christmas pudding, or sea salt crème brûlée for dessert.

Whether a celebration of the love between friends or something more romantic, Valentines Day is a time for little indulgences that show you care.

We love a little indulgence here at The Clockspire, and our decadent Afternoon Tea is the perfect expression.  Delicate finger sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats await, as well as your choice of freshly brewed loose-leaf tea.  What a way to spend an afternoon with someone you love! Add a glass of prosecco or Champagne for extra sparkle!

The Clockspire's indulgent Valentines Afternoon Tea is available between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February.

On 24th October, join us for a night of intrigue, suspense, mystery and, of course, murder in the opulent setting of our Great Hall.

Arrive at 6pm in your 1920s finest and enjoy a welcome tipple before taking your seats. The famous Murder by Appointment will then give you clues and scenarios to help you discover who committed a heinous crime.

What to expect

The Flamingo Club in uptown Chicago is recognised as being one of the most successful nightclubs in the city. Owned by Tony Lupino, it is much favoured by the ‘Flapper’ set of the period, together with the wealthy of Chicago, and is a local business much sought after by the powerful Chicago ‘mob’ and its leader Johnny Torrio.

Due to the effects of the Wall Street crash, Tony finds himself in financial difficulty and pressure is put on with some business deals he arranged in recent years and other personal issues raise their head. It would also appear that the ‘Mob’ have entered the arena intent on a take-over. Can Tony survive both financially and otherwise? Will he survive the evening?

Watch the mystery and threats unfold before your very eyes and when a body is found, see if you can work out who the murderer might be?

Join Moy and The Working Boat crew for an artsy winter evening of fun drawing challenges whilst sipping your favourite beverage.

Hosted in our below decks pub, The Working Boat, ‘Drink and Draw’ has the perfect wintry harbour backdrop. Starting Tuesday 8th October, settle in for a cosy evening and share the space with fellow creatives. Everyone is welcome, regardless of previous experience or skill level – it’s all for fun!

Bring along your own materials, from graphite pencils, sticks and charcoal to coloured pens and paper, and Moy will provide the drawing challenges each week. The first challenge is to ‘Draw your favourite drink as a character’. Later sessions may include collage, mixed media and digital work, so there is lots to look forward to!

Head to the Water’s Edge on Thursday 27th March to savour a truly unique dining experience that will have you lapping at the shoreline. Our Head Chef Bobby has expertly crafted and curated a tantalising six course menu priced at £69 per person, that will excite your taste buds and give you a true taste of all our coastal region has to offer.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with an unforgettable afternoon of indulgence. Full Champagne Afternoon Tea is served including an assortment of delectable pastries, traditional finger sandwiches, and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. A fantastic Frank Sinatra tribute act serenades all, and each mother receives a special commemorative gift.
