Overview

Leighton Hall is the family home of the Gillow furniture making dynasty, and is set against a backdrop of the Lake District hills. With over 30 years experience of making wedding dreams come true, the expectation of would-be bride and grooms coming to Leighton is that they are going to get something exceptional for their special day.

What makes Leighton Hall a unique wedding venue?

Each couple has exclusive use of the Hall, and Leighton is the fairy-tale venue they've dreamed about. Leighton caters for the simplest of weddings to the most lavish of affairs - couples can invite from 15 to 150 guests and can even arrive by helicopter if they wish to. In summer, all wedding guests have full access to the pretty landscaped gardens and perfectly manicured lawns, meaning there's an unrivalled choice of settings for photographs. In the winter, many of Leighton's rooms have open roaring fires and flickering candlelight, adding to the romance of the occasion.

What is a typical wedding like at Leighton Hall?

It's difficult to find a setting that compares with Leighton Hall. The house is nestled in a beautiful bowl of parkland. It sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with pretty gardens, woodland walks, herbaceous borders and a pond. Couples who want to make a spectacular entrance can come down the huge suspended stone staircase, or through the front door into the magnificent hall, via a red carpet. Ceremonies for up to 80 guests take place in the music room, where services are tailored to the couple's wishes. Music is a personal choice and guests are encouraged to play the beautiful Steinway that takes pride of place. The room has huge floor to ceiling windows offering remarkable views. There is also the option to hold your ceremony outside in the Herb Garden Pavillion or on the Lawn.

What Wedding Packages does Leighton Hall offer?

There are many different packages to choose from and every wedding is organised with the couple's personalities and preferences in mind. Each wedding is different and arranged specifically around the bride and groom's needs and wants, putting them right at the heart of their special day.  Lisenced for indoor and outdoor weddings.

What Extra facilities does Leighton Hall have to assist couples to have the perfect day?

Unusually, brides and grooms can hold their stag and hen weekends at the hall. The stag and hen guests can choose from activities like archery, clay pigeon shooting and off-road driving, alongside a sit-down meal or buffet. The main feedback received is that both the bride and groom felt at home at Leighton by the time they got married, as they'd spent quality time in the hall and grounds before the big day. New for 2023 is the beautifully renovated Victorian Conservatory - perfect for a wedding party of about 50 guests.

Where is Leighton Hall located?

Leighton Hall is in Carnforth, Lancashire, just 10 mins drive from junction 35 of the M6. Follow the brown tourism signs - not the sat nav.

Other Information

For larger weddings, a marquee can be attached to the house via the Drawing Room's external staircase. Complete with chandeliers, dance floor and a star cloth, the marquee accommodates up to 150 guests.
