Woodlands Glencoe sits at the foot of Glencoe beside Loch Linnhe, on a 36-acre estate that sits between the loch and the tree line. Woodlands takes a different approach to Highland accommodation. The 21 lodges each have their own private hot tub: twelve RiverBed Wee Lodges built among trees with verandas over the river, seven SeaBed Lookouts set into the hillside with views across loch, mountain and glen, and two Scandi-style Forest properties for larger groups. All are designed with care: Simba mattresses, rainfall showers, mood lighting, projector screens, electric curtains, air conditioning and fully equipped galley kitchens with Nespresso machines. (Only SeaBeds have rainfall showers, projector screens, air con and electric curtains. The others have mood lighting and coffee machines. RiverBeds don’t have fully equipped kitchens as they only have a fridge and a microwave). The estate is built from sustainable materials with air-source heating, and actively plants trees and maintains paths to protect the landscape around it.
On-site activities are genuinely varied: a nine-hole golf course at the Dragon's Tooth (this is no longer officially called Dragon’s Tooth), e-bike hire along the Caledonian Way, Segway tours, archery, axe-throwing, fishing, and guided forest walks (we don’t offer guided forest walks, but there are lots of forest trails to enjoy). The Woodland Wellness Studio covers massages, sound baths and Reiki, and a Wild Sauna experience is available on the estate. The café serves freshly roasted Inverness coffee, Arran dairy cheese and gin from the distillery next door, with a wood burner for winter and a summer veranda facing the loch. (There’s the Kitchen Food Truck & Bar serving up delicious dishes such as a Seafood Boil for two. The bar serves cocktails, local spirits and draught beer/cider)) Ben Nevis, Fort William and Loch Ness are all within easy reach by car. Up to three dogs are welcome per stay.
