What do you think makes a stay at The Old Millhouse unique?
The Old Millhouse is one of Scotland's most quietly extraordinary private retreats — a 1703 stone mill rescued from ruin and meticulously restored into a five-star exclusive-use property just 20 minutes from Edinburgh. Set on 3.5 private acres along the River South Esk, it sleeps up to 12 across the main house and a riverside apartment, with a hydrotherapy swim spa, Scandinavian sauna, and cold plunge pool on site. East Coast golf is on the doorstep — Muirfield, North Berwick, and Gullane all within easy reach — while Edinburgh's restaurants, culture, and history are a short drive away. What truly sets it apart is Sally herself — a host with over 30 years of international hospitality experience who lives on the property and is included in every stay, bringing the warmth and knowledge of a private household rather than the anonymity of a rental.
