Lydford in Devon is near Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor and stands on the River Lydd. Just to the south west of the village is Lydford Gorge a wooded gorge owned by the National Trust, with a magnificent 100ft waterfall. Being close to Dartmoor it is a popular area for tourists. The remains of the 12th century Lydford Castle can be seen near the village.
