West Stow Pods is a family run glamping site home to 4 MegaPods, 2 Woodland Lodges and Pod Hollow, their very own Hobbit-inspired subterranean dwelling. West Stow Pods is situated approximately 4 miles from the historic town of Bury St Edmunds and within the fantastic Suffolk countryside, which is packed with wonder, from its rolling hills and fields to its ancient woods and wild brambles. How better to experience the magic than staying in Pod Hollow, a charming halfling accommodation built into the side of a grassy knoll. Pod Hollow combines Tolkienesque fantasy with all modern comforts, including a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, oven and microwave for a completely relaxing, magical stay.

What is the capacity for Pod Hollow?

Pod Hollow can accommodate up to 4 guests. There are two double bedrooms with a King-sized bed in each. Bolsters are available for children sharing. Pod Hollow is dog-friendly and allows small to medium-sized dogs.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Bury St Edmunds area?

There is some fantastic walking and cycling right on the doorstop! Visit West Stow Anglo-Saxons Village in Suffolk with a Tolkien Society Member who discusses how much Tolkien-Anglo-Saxons have to do with it. Participate in a Riddle battle and explore the set of the fan film, Born of Hope. Try your hand at the longbow with a Ranger archery session. The Fullers Mill Garden is a beautiful woodland garden just a short walk from the glamping site.  The gardens are on the quiet banks of the River Lark, near West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village of Suffolk, which is open between April and September. Only 15 minutes from the glamping retreat is Bury St Edmunds' Abbey Gardens, a must-see spot. The magnificent gardens are situated in the town centre and are home to the spectacular ruins of the Abbey. In the heart of Bury St. Edmund in Suffolk, overlooking the lively market place of the city, is located the Moyse's Hall Museum. It is the perfect daytime activity on a grey or rainy day for the glamping guests. Ickworth House, an impressive neoclassical building of the 18th century and its surrounding gardens and parks is located in Horringer just a few miles from the site.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

You will be spoilt for choice when looking for food outside of the West Stow Pod glamping site. Bury St Edmunds is a hub of good food in Suffolk. There are many local restaurants to choose from, whether it be a casual pub lunch to a spicy curry or even fine dining, there is a taste for everyone. There are several pubs within walking distance, the closest being 40 mins walk away.
