Heathcot, which dates back to the 1850s, has formerly served as a farm, bakery, butcher, and Youth Hostel, and is now a magnificent hideaway for families with older children or groups of friends. It's a great place to stay all year since it's roomy and stylish, and it's only two miles from Holt, a charming Georgian market town with independent shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, and three miles from North Norfolk's gorgeous heritage coast.
Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Holt area?
This elegant retreat is an excellent starting point for discovering all that Norfolk has to offer. Holt railway station is only a ten-minute walk away, where you may board the Poppyline steam train to Weybourne and Sheringham, or connect with a train to Norwich's cosmopolitan city. You'll be able to go shopping in Holt or explore Holt's own 100-acre Country Park and neighbouring Kelling Heath, which has lovely woodland trails. The house has two bicycles provided for your use and plenty of storage if you wish to bring your own. And, of course, there are miles and miles of the North Norfolk coastal path to explore too. Only ten miles away is the family orientated traditional seaside town of Cromer with its award-winning pier, beautiful beaches with rock pools, cliffs and great sandy expanses, and great independent places to eat out.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
Holt has a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants to tempt your taste buds. One place not to miss is The Folly Tea Room.
