The area around the cottage is particularly enchanting and includes dramatic hills, open fields, mature trees and the River Lyon. It is a perfect base from which to enjoy the surrounding countryside and attractions.

1) From Edinburgh airport and the south, aim for the Forth Road Bridge and then the M90 (easy sign-posts from the airport) then take the A9 towards Inverness. 2) Exit off the A9 north of Perth at Ballinluig and head west to Aberfeldy along the A827. 3) Before leaving Aberfeldy turn right at the cross roads onto the B846. 4) Head through Weem, past Dull, and a couple of miles later turn left at Coshieville towards Fortingall (signposted). 5) Go through Fortingall and turn right after 300 yards into Glen Lyon (signposted). 6) The cottage is c.3 miles along Glen Lyon. Pass a white cottage by the road on the right with antlers above the door (Woodend), then the river gets very close to the left of the road. Pass two stone gate posts on your right (this is the drive to Chesthill House). You will then see the Chesthill House set back from the road on the right. Yours is the next turning, up a track to your right with a green box next to the road (the gate might be closed in which case close it after you please). The track bends to the right and you will then see the Gardener's Cottage is set back from the track on your left.

Gardener's Cottage

Gardeners cottage is exceptionally fantastic. It's setting is perfect for relaxing and the view from the windows are the best you could wish for. The wildlife around the grounds of the estate is also exceptional. The birds that come to the garden and the closeness of the dear and red squirrels is splendid. One evening we had 12 dear in the field next to the garden and often there would be pods of dear in the grounds of the house. The house itself is clean nicely decorated and comfy beds with nice bedding and fluffy towels, we were there when i...

Gardener's Cottage

Fantastic cottage that I cannot recommend highly enough. Beautifully presented with lots to see and do if you can peel yourself away from the wood burning stove.... We loved it.

Gardener's Cottage

We have stayed in the cottage 4 times and the lodge every year for 30 years for fishing. The new fittings in the cottage are really good. We will keep coming as Glen Lyon and S Chesthill are really beautiful another great week.

Gardener's Cottage

Terry & I have been many, many times before and always loved it – but the cottage now has a cared for look, lived in and the work that has gone into the refurbishment in and around the kitchen is fabulous – well done to all.
