The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists of all abilities who enjoy escaping the central Lakes crowds. Famous, Wainwright peaks such as the Old Man of Coniston and Dow Crag can be walked straight from Cragg Cottage front door. Should you be looking for something a little less challenging then the idyllic Torver Common or nearby Beacon Tarn with breath-taking views are also popular walking spots.
