Chesthill comprises a comfortable house to fill with up to 15 friends and there is also an en-suite bedroom on the ground floor, which can be used by the chef. A traditional sporting estate of over 7,000 acres of hill and 4.5 miles of river to explore.
The house is the principal sporting lodge on the South Chesthill Estate, but there is also Gardener's Cottage, which sleeps 4. This is also bookable via this website. Chesthill House is a traditional stone-built lodge, comprising 7 twins and 1 single bedroom (all with wash hand basins and most with en-suite bathrooms). The property feels it important to mention that the dining table only seats 12 comfortably.
The ground floor includes the main entrance hall, sitting room with a TV, a bright spacious drawing room with a CD player and radio, small study and large dining room. There's a games room with snooker, table tennis, darts and a stage for budding child actors! There is a drying room, cloakroom with wc, and gun room with secure cabinet, and laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer. Wireless broadband internet is available on the ground floor, but the speeds can be slow.
The lodge is let on a fully furnished basis including all linen and towels. Daily housekeeping is provided by Liz the housekeeper and it is recommended that a cook be employed (we can recommend a good agency). Ainster, the estate keeper, will be on standby to help you with all outdoor activities.
House-trained dogs are allowed, but downstairs only. Dogs that might cause any damage should be kept in the kennels in the stables in the yard, or in private cars.
