Overview

Belstane Log Cabin is a modern timber-built self-catering holiday cottage. Small but perfectly formed it is set on its own in 14 acres of tree-fringed fields on the edge of the Pentland Regional Park. Deeply rural yet only a dozen or so miles from the Festival City of Edinburgh it offers the options of a tranquil, pastoral holiday or a base for many activities from walking to golf, fishing, mountain biking and many more as well all that Scotland's ancient capital city Edinburgh has to offer. If you enjoy wildlife Belstane Cabin has a resident population of deer, raptors and much more, all you need to do is be quiet and still. Accommodation is ideally suited to those who would fill one double and one twin room, the Belstane Cabin has large decking area with a barbecue. Everything that you might need is on hand, a large comfortably furnished kitchen/living room with everything that a modern kitchen requires. With grazing and stabling available, we can also offer you the option to bring your horse with you to enjoy the many opportunities to ride out.

We were lucky to spend a week in this cozy and new cottage. The house is superbly equipped and comfortable, the beds are perfect and the children loved the games and nature books. The terrace overlooks the hill which you have to yourself, apart from some sheep, cows & deer. Fiona and Dave, who live a stone throw away are lovely, attentive and interesting hosts. We loved the fact that we stayed. It's very tranquil but yet close enough to Edinburgh, The Pentland Hills with astonishing walking and cycling trails, coastal area, Glasgow – would've loved to stay a bit longer!!

Beautifully laid out and furnished, in a lovely quiet rural location but convenient for Edinburgh and Glasgow, dog-friendly and very thoughtful about what we might need. We had a lovely stay, very peaceful but convenient, everything we needed was here, our son wants to move in (I think the rest of us do too!) We love the solar lights, the dogs love the field and the trees. Thank you so much for the lovely hospitality and we will be back now we've found you!

Fantastic log cabin situated in Kirknewton. Fee and Dave were exceptionally welcoming and the tasteful cabin is perfectly laid out as a home from home. Kitchen is fully equipped and we even got welcome drinks and fresh flowers. Great location and easy to find. Double bed and twin room with a shared bathroom. The rest of the cabin is open planned kitchen/living area and is really spacious. Highly recommended and we will be back again.

This is a lovely cabin with everything you need. It was so nice to go somewhere with all the creature comforts in tranquil settings It was lovely to see the odd deer and we were lucky enough to get within 50m of a buzzard perched on a stump. Dave and Fi were great hosts and we thoroughly recommend this cabin.
