Overview

Just behind the honey-stone high street of Broadway – one of the Cotswolds’ most storied villages – Bay House Cottages offer a quietly stylish base for exploring this postcard-perfect corner of England. Set within the grounds of an elegant Georgian house, these converted cottages pair period character with laid-back, contemporary comfort.

Inside, think flagstone floors, open fires, and cosy corners layered with soft throws and natural textures. The kitchens are made for slow mornings – fresh coffee, toast, the weekend papers – while deep bathtubs and king-sized beds make it hard to venture far once you’ve settled in. Each cottage has its own rhythm and outlook, whether that’s a view over manicured gardens or the green swell of the Cotswold hills.

Step outside and you’re moments from Broadway’s art galleries, antique shops and tea rooms, yet the cottages themselves feel wonderfully peaceful and secluded – private, serene, and perfect for slowing down. The walking here is exceptional, with the Cotswold Way meandering close by and Hidcote’s gardens, Chipping Campden and Daylesford all an easy drive.

Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Broadway area?

The Cotswold village of Broadway in the English county of Worcestershire is often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswold’s’ and the ‘Show Village of England’ because of its sheer beauty and magnificence.

Many well-known characters have spent time in Broadway drawing inspiration from its beauty and location including Oscar Wilde, Claude Monet, Edwin Abbey, John Singer Sargent, William Morris and Edward Elgar.

The full extent of Broadway’s majesty is its wide street lined with a delightful mix of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian buildings. The village has one of the longest High Streets in England.

Broadway village lies beneath Fish Hill on the western Cotswold escarpment, in the county of Worcestershire and close to the border of Gloucestershire. Just 2 hours from central London and within easy reach of Stratford, Warwick, Cheltenham, Oxford & Bath.

Broadway has it all from several art galleries, museums, and gift and clothes shops to three inns, half dozen tea shops and three hotels.
