Overview

Assynt House is a beautiful Georgian mansion, a 5 Star exclusive use venue with seven bedrooms, all en-suite. There is a wonderful wood lined drawing room, a fully equipped large kitchen plus wonderful views to enjoy from every window.

What makes a stay at Assynt House unique?

The owners, Graham and Elizabeth Waugh, make sure that guests are expertly looked after during their stay. Graham also offers a flexible catering service, taking care of some or all meal requirements.

What is the capacity for Assynt House?

Assynt House sleeps up to 14 people and there are also cots and fold-away beds for children. The rooms are such a good size that all can accommodate at least one child's bed, if not two.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Dingwall area?

The house is very well located for accessing the Northern Highlands, including the famous NC500 route. Loch Ness, Ullapool and The Black Isle are close by, and there are many castles and historic places to visit and outdoor activities to enjoy.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

There are some lovely independent eateries across the Highlands, but if guests want to stay in and enjoy the splendour of Assynt House, owner and chef, Graham Waugh, can cook you a fabulous meal at the house.

We were 6 couples staying a week at Assynt House. The place exceeded all our expectations!! The house is lovingly renovated very tastefully. Rooms are perfect, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen, salons, dining room are a dream. Surroundings are beautiful and quiet. To further heighten the experience the owners are stunningly helpful and friendly. Living on the premises they are there constantly to serve you. Rooms are made up each day and there is daily general housekeeping. I left some dirty clothes in the washig room one day and when I came back to the house they were washed and dried and in my room. You can either selfcater or let Elisabeth and Graham cook for you. We had one dinner where Graham served an excellent dinner with full service. We will be back!!!

We booked Assynt House for a week over Christmas 2017 for a big family get together. In every respect the house and, in particular, the care and level of service provided by the owners hugely exceeded our expectations. We were treated more like hotel guests than self catering guests. The house is beautiful, unbelievably well equipped, clean & spacious. The owners even decorated it for Christmas including a tree, they really went way beyond what was expected. The local area is also very interesting, in particular the spectacular Black Rock Gorge just one field away. We thoroughly recommend Assynt House, it was the best self catering house we have ever experienced, by far.
