Lockerbie

The town of Lockerbie in south west Scotland has a good transport network. Many of the buildings in the town are constructed of redstone. The town is known worldwide for the tragedy in 1988 when a bomb exploded on a Pan Am Being 747 jumbo jet over the town killing 270 people. It has one of the oldest indoor ice rinks in the country.

At the end of the Solway Firth is Powfoot, one of the area's best but least well-known courses. Laid out by James Braid in 1903, it weaves its way along the Firth on undulating links before the last four holes which are almost parkland in feel.
