ts not often that you find a place that ticks all the boxes... believe me, this place does !!!!, even down to the quality of the coffee. We booked this on the same day for a family celebration meal and also stayed over as we didn't want to have to travel or taxi. From the time we arrived we were treated exceptionally by all the staff. We explained that we would like to dine outside but that maybe the older company we had may feel the chill later in the evening. We were told that they could reserve us a table ( for 8 !!) outside and also "the snug" for later dessert / coffee... fantastic.. well done !!! Food was served very well and with no delays or problems, all the plates were cleared of foo so it was clearly appetising, I highly recommend the pie of the day ( it was chicken and tarragon), I did wonder if I would struggle to eat it all and hope to go back and get a steak and ale or similar next time for variety. The room we had ( Pheasant) was very comfortable and suited us very well, when I was told that dogs were also welcome and would get their own beer I was highly impressed and will take my dogs next time as there are very few places that welcome dogs but this country pub / restaurant appreciates that many country pursuit followers have canine companions too. Breakfast was superb, a fine selection and all served in a very nice setting... did I mention that the coffee is great We think that we got exceptional service and value for money from The White Horse and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it !!

I need to start with the food. Oh my goodness, it's delicious. Absolutely outstanding quality, and cooked to perfection. This is one of the main reasons we came back for both the food and the extensive wine list they have. The breakfast is also so lovely, you absolutely have to have the Eggs Benedict. The ham is perfect, the muffins and the hollandaise sauce is obviously homemade and just delicious. The poached eggs again cooked to perfection. Whoever your chef is there, double his salary you need to keep them happy!. My fiancé had the steak which I know he was oh so looking forward to and he was not disappointed, I have never known him so silent! I had the mushroom pithier again so tasty and yummy. The bedrooms are a mixture of heritage but modern. If you are lucky enough to have a room with a copper bath, you will not want to get out until you have made a prune jealous Next time I am hoping to get a room with a hot tub! To summarise: a wonderful relaxing stay, with quirky interiors, gorgeous rooms and if you love your food then this is the place for you.

We arrived tired and hot after Goodwood Festival of Speed, the pub is lovely in the sunshine, big gardens, big rooms and ours was in the little annex outside. Spacious and well appointed. The food and sharing platters were delightful as were the chatty and friendly staff, who knew the menu and specials inside out, and delivered the descriptions with panache. They reflect the manager Nikki I'm guessing. Breakfast was laid back and very filling, all in all, a perfect location for a weekend or getaway. The field next door whilst we were there had the option of bell tents, glamping style, with a communal BBQ pit and 'outdoor' lounge creatively put together...more expensive than the rooms but, hey that's Goodwood, even sponsors stayed there, you can't go wrong here.

I was a solo visitor with my dog for one night and loved The White Horse. My room was extremely comfortable with a view of the garden. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome, which was appreciated as a solo traveller. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. There are lots of thoughtful touches in the decor that gave me the impression that a lot of love and care has gone into the property. The area is beautiful with walks from the pub and the beach at West Wittering is only 30 mins away

After a wine tasting and a tour of a local vineyard organised by the hotel. We returned to find a lovely dog friendly hotel which has tastefully been decorated. We also had a hot tub but sadly wasn't really the ideal weather for it. Dinner was very nice and good value the menu is small but will have something for most people. The wine list is very extensive and has some very special wines on it. Breakfast was very satisfying and lots to offer. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Beautiful location, lovely accommodation, indoor and outdoor space which more than catered for 80 eating guests plus an additional 30 for the evening. Food was delicious and the staff were so helpful and smiling throughout. Pre planning meetings were professional but relaxed with lots of good ideas from the staff. It all meant that the wedding reception ran smoothly but with a very upbeat feeling throughout. Would certainly recommend this for a wedding reception

We managed to sneak a night away before Christmas here at the white horse. We were warned that there would be some noise as there were some parties booked in. In the end we had a stunning meal which was quiet enough. It was a very incentive menu with local game ingredients dominating the menu. Yum yum. The bedroom was clean, warm and quiet. Breakfast was lovely with a huge choice of cooked options. Lovely food, great welcome and we will be back.

We have just had a lovely stay at the White Horse. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our room was great, good sized bed 50" TV, lovely big rainfall shower and plenty of options for beverages in the room. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good as was the breakfast this morning. The White Horse is located in the beautiful South Downs and is ideal for exploring the surrounding area and south coast.
