With a Scandinavian/New England feel, the Gallivant is a calm, informal and relaxing place to dine, located just across the road from the dunes and beautiful miles of sandy beach beyond. In winter months enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire by the bar and when the weather's fine nab a table on the outdoor terrace.
The small team is dedicated to serving delicious food foraged and sourced locally with some 95% of fresh ingredients coming from the fishermen and farmers who live and work within 10 miles. The menu changes weekly with a daily prix fixe lunch menu as well as à la carte and tasting menus on offer - dishes may include rack of Romney salt marsh lamb or fillet of sea bass with creamed leeks, salsify and oyster beignets.
The wine list is abundant and includes a selection of sensibly priced local English cuvées, international red and whites as well as pudding and cheese pairings.
