Overview

The Clog and Billycock This isn't just any old gastropub. Run by Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft of Michelin starred-Northcote fame, its part of Ribble Valley Inns group that also includes the award winning Three Fishes, The Highwayman and more recently The Bull at Broughton. The traditional interior with its stone flag floors and wooden wainscoting is given a stylish contemporary twist with large black and white photos of the local Lancashire produce that appears on the extensive menu. Haworth's signature Lancashire Hotpot makes an appearance, made with Burholme Farm heather fed Lonk lamb and served with pickled red cabbage. Dishes such as lamb sweetbreads, fresh broad beans and peas, caper and parsley mash potato will keep serious foodies happy. A good value wine list has been expertly compiled by Bancroft and there's ales from acclaimed local brewery Thwaites.
