Really superb food - best for miles around!

Although not staying at the hotel, we booked for the "fine dining" menu in the restaurant. At £38 a head for two courses (plus a "chef's snack" to begin) it's not cheap but absolutely worth every penny. Inventive combinations of top-quality local ingredients, cooked with craft and precision and stunningly presented. This chef is seriously talented - this place doesn't appear to have an entry in either Harden's or the Good Food Guide yet, an omission which hopefully will be rectified soon. The service was excellent too, on a quiet evening - we had a lovely, relaxing time despite being almost the only people dining. We'll be staying in Reeth again next spring and will definitely go back.

Date of visit: September 2019
