The Blue Lion

The Blue Lion is a former 18th-century coaching inn which now has 15 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar area. The Inn has been under the same ownership since 1990 and has received several awards over the years, including dining pub of the year and Inn of the year from The Good Pub Guide.

The Blue Lion is located in the attractive village of East Witton, between the market towns of Masham and Leyburn. Local attractions include Jervaulx Abbey, The Forbidden Corner, Middleham Castle, Bolton Castle and The Wensleydale railway. Tours of Black Sheep and Theakstons Brewery are available in Masham. The Blue Lion is also close to the racing town of Middleham, and the racecourses at Ripon, Thirsk and Catterick.
