Overview

The Parlour Restaurant sits inside a Grade II listed Victorian building that has been feeding and watering people on Park Road since 1863, and the kitchen takes its cues from the surrounding landscape. Head Chef Gary builds his menus around seasonal British produce, drawing loose inspiration from the kitchen gardens of Hampton Court Palace nearby. The cooking is hearty and grounded: comforting pub classics sit alongside daily fish specials, seasonal pies, and sharing plates, with a drinks list that covers local ales, a curated wine selection, and a cocktail menu that changes with the seasons.

Breakfast runs seven days a week from early morning, the lunch menu covers everything from light bites to full plates, and evenings lean into proper sit-down dining in the restaurant. The Sunday roast is the week's centrepiece: goose fat roasties, double-yolk Yorkshires, and generous portions of beef, pork or chicken, with a loyal following that books ahead. The Gallery Bar offers a more relaxed setting for drinks and lighter eating throughout the day, with fires in winter and a front terrace that catches the afternoon sun in summer.

The dining room is high-ceilinged and well considered, with enough space between tables to feel unhurried. Dog-friendly throughout, and well placed for families walking in from Bushy Park. A reliable neighbourhood restaurant that takes its food seriously without losing sight of what a good pub meal should feel like.

Ten minutes by rail from Waterloo, and well placed for Twickenham and Richmond.
