Overview

A secluded bolthole with a picturesque view that salves the sole as soon as you arrive. Set in its own cove facing the Irish sea, this Victorian shooting lodge with 10 individual bedrooms, pleasantly old-fashioned yet unobtrusively modern, 40 acres of grounds and gardens and a private beach, offers peace and tranquility many crave. Attention to detail is paramount.

Where is Knockinaam Lodge located?

Near the most southerly point of South West Scotland, facing the Irish Sea, Knockinaam is situated in its own cove, approximately 3 miles from Portpatrick and only 12 miles from Cairnryan Ferry Crossing to Ireland. Logan Botanical Gardens, Castle Kenney and Glenwhan gardens are all within a half an hours drive, as are many walks around the stunning countryside and local beaches.

What type of food do you serve at Knockinaam Lodge?

Knockinaam Lodge offers a set 7-course taster menu each evening, which is created depending on which ingredients arrive or are picked that day. Much of the produce is sourced locally, if not grown in the vegetable garden. Modern classical best describes Tony Pierce's style, who has been at the lodge over 21 years.

Does the chef at Knockinaam Lodge have a signature dish?

The dish most guests talk about are the Souffles that are created in the kitchen. White Peach & Raspberry, Morello Cherry and Chocolate, Hot Strawberry and Tarragon are just a few of the seasonal flavours that appear on the menu.

What makes the dining experience unique at Knockinaam Lodge ?

On booking a note is taken of any dietary dislikes and therefore the 7-course menu is tailored for you. Your allocated table is yours for the evening and time is yours. Canapes and predinner drinks are served in the lounges where menus are offered, and wine chosen if required. Service is attentive without being stuffy and staff friendly.
