Hotel Endsleigh

Restaurant

This 19th-century shooting and fishing lodge has been sensitively converted by designer Olga Polizzi. The beautiful wood-panelled dining room with its views over the grounds is a decidedly chintz free zone and sets an elegant, restrained stage for chef Chris Dyke's Mediterranean-influenced cooking.

Where is Hotel Endsleigh located?

The restaurant is located in the original dining room of Hotel Endsleigh, featuring beautiful wood panelling and the crests of the Duke of Bedford's friends. This fairytale hotel is located in the Tamar Valley on the border between Devon and Cornwall, it is the country cousin of the seaside Tresanton in Cornwall and The Star (soon to debut) in Alfriston.

What cuisine is on offer at Hotel Endsleigh?

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner takes its inspiration from the surrounding countryside.

What is the signature dish at Hotel Endsleigh?

Starters range from a very classic red mullet soup, with crouton and saffron rouille to a more adventurous creation of pan-fried John Dory, pear puree, pickled vegetables and trompette noir mushrooms. The main course of Barbary duck breast served with root vegetable terrine, candied kumquats, red cabbage and baby beetroot is a clever modern twist on a duck a l'orange while fillet of pork, with crispy belly, pommes Anna and red cabbage is more straightforward but no less enticing.
