Britain's Finest in conversation with Emberwood

Where is Emberwood located?

Emberwood is located in The Francis Hotel which is situated right in the heart of Bath City centre. The restaurant can be accessed from within the hotel or via its own entrance directly from the street.

Does the chef at Emberwood have a signature dish?

Dishes change seasonally to ensure the best procedure is used. Popular dishes include Creedy Carver chicken from Devon, day-boat Cornish hake and coal-roasted scallops. The dry-aged Westcombe Farm côte de boeuf and beef-fat béarnaise is not to be missed.

What type of food do you serve at Emberwood?

Emberwood is a British brasserie. Focusing on dishes using the freshest local produce. Dishes are cooked over the heart, to kiss and deepend the flavours.

To begin, there is a nod to the coastal towns of Cornwall with coal roasted scallops, garlic butter and gremolata or crispy Porthilly oysters and Somerset lardo.

And, for the main event, it's a celebration of honest, seasonal produce. Savour and share a dry-aged Westcombe Farm côte de boeuf, whole monkfish tail wrapped in cured lardo, or a beef shin and stout pie, slow-braised and served with cavolo nero and celeriac.

Dessert is to be savoured and an experience in itself. Watch the dessert trolley, a classic favourite, roll up to the table, offering a zesty Yuzu curd choux bun, iconic velvety baked vanilla cheesecake.

What makes the dining experience unique at Emberwood ?

Emberwoood is not what you might expect to find in the heart of Georgian Bath. It celebrates classic dining, with the open hearth taking centre stage. Creating an indulgent feast for the senses. Enjoy flavoursome and beautifully presented dishes that allow the best local ingredients to shine.

The food is complemented by the drinks. Every pour is crafted with care, from the signature martini trolley serving your chosen sip tableside to a wine list handpicked by the expert sommelier.
