Nestled between the Preseli hills and Pembrokeshire coast, Cnapan oozes family tradition and charm. The intimate, homely dining room includes an exposed stone fireplace with customary horse brasses and crossed swords. However, the menu and wine list are markedly more modish. Quality local foods such as Penclaudd mussels, Preseli lamb and Cardigan Bay scallops feature throughout. International flavours are married to create innovative dishes such as potted crab with hot and sour pickled tiger prawns, local lobster with laverbread and fennel sauce and lemon cream with burnt sugar and cinnamon. Alternatively, finish with a selection of award winning Welsh cheeses accompanied by a choice from the succinct but inventive wine list promoting the likes of the Welsh Organic Monnow Valley vineyard.
