This converted hunting lodge on the banks of the Broadwater Lake in 543 acres of ancient parkland on the Brocket Hall Estate makes a romantic setting for acclaimed and talented young chef Marcus McGuinness dazzlingly modern and beautifully presented dishes. Set over four floors, Auberge du Lac includes a comfortable lounge, four private dining rooms, lakeside terrace overlooking Brocket Hall itself as well as the elegant main dining room where you can enjoy the likes of foie gras parfait with roast and pickled peach, szechuan granola and thyme brioche followed by plaice with cauliflower, crab and sea vegetables. Oenophiles will delight in the 750 bin wine cellar that's home to the Sommelier’s Table where private wine and Champagne tastings take place.
Auberge du Lac is part of the following Inspirations:
"Brocket Hall is one of the great stately homes of England. Although the present red brick mansion set in over 500 acres dates to the late 18th century, a privately owned house has been on the same site since 1239. Only 45 minutes from central London, Brocket not only offers first-rate golf on its two courses, each named after former British Prime Ministers who lived in the Hall, the Lords Palmerston and Melbourne. The venue is hugely popular with corporate clients but also caters intimate, fine dining for couples simply looking for a relaxing weekend break in historic and extremely comfortable surroundings. The Auberge du Lac is Hertfordshire’s only Michelin starred restaurant set in the old hunting lodge on the banks of Broadwater lake which comes into play on the 18th hole of the Palmerston course where players can reach the green by boat!"
"Located amidst over 500 acres of parkland in the beautiful Brocket Estate, Hertfordshire’s only Michelin starred restaurant is currently cooking up slow roast Dedham Vale beef, cinnamon ice cream with cranberry purée and succulent mulled wine poached pears. The former hunting lodge sits on the banks of Broadwater Lake, overlooking Brockett Hall and is a great place for a blow out meal with friends. For a really special occasion it boasts four private dining rooms – not to mention the elaborate wine cellar with 750 bins!"
