A 16th-century coaching inn in the hamlet of Ford, near Chippenham, set beside the By Brook that runs through the garden. The White Hart served travellers on the road between London and the West Country for centuries, and much of that original character survives: creaking floorboards, exposed beams, wonky lintels and a sense of deep quiet that belongs to the Wiltshire countryside. Eleven bedrooms, each individually finished, sit above and beside the pub. Castle Combe is close by, and the broader Cotswolds and AONB landscape is on the doorstep. A genuinely tucked-away place, with the peace to prove it.
