Overview

Boasting history, character and abundant charm, The Five Alls At Fikins is a beautiful and sensitively restored 17th century, ivy-clad Cotswold stone coaching inn offering visitors to the area a genuine and warm reception, whilst remaining a cosy and welcoming village local.

What makes a stay at The Five Alls unique?

Five Alls characterful charm is enhanced throughout with sensitively restored original features such as rendered Cotswold stone walls, flagstone or oak floors, inglenook fireplace, exposed oak beams and Georgian sash windows, which are complemented by cosy and stylish interiors with pops of bold colour.

This light and spacious main bar features a handsome Cotswold stone bar, with a further bar and recption area ovelooking a cosy, Alpine-style snug with leather sofa and chairs beside a huge inglenook fireplace lit daily during the winter months. Adjacent to the Snug, a light and airy, oak-beamed dining room with French doors on to the terraced garden, with another more formal dining space at the rear of the pub with space for private dining for a table of of 12.

The relaxed, bustling atmosphere at Five Alls also makes it ideal for families with children of all ages to dine and stay, along with their dogs. Dogs are welcome in the bar and dining areas with doggy treats including rabbit, venison and boar chews.

Outside on its suntrap terrace and in the apple orchard garden beyond, large parasols offer shade during the warmer months and there are also outdoor heaters, for drinking and dining alfresco almost year round.

What style cuisine is on offer at The Five Alls?

Talented head chef, Lucian Juganaru's well-considered seasonally changing, à la carte and set menus celebrate the very best, fresh ingredients found locally and from around the UK, including fresh daily fish deliveries from Brixham in Devon. Everything on the menus is made in-house, except the bread, which is delivered daily by Marks Cotsowld Bakery, based in nearby Chipping Norton. Expect innovative and flavourful dishes such as Lightly smoked trout pate with citrus, honey, sourdough toast, Pressed leg of Lamb with pea & mint fricassee and roasting jus and Five All’s coffee pannacotta with amaretto crumble, alongside elevated pub classics.

Vegetarian and vegan options are available on every menu and there’s also an all-day bar snacks menu and a dedicated children’s men

What is the signature dish at The Five Alls?

Due to the focus on seaonality, there is no signature dish on the regularly changing à la carte menus, but The Five Alls does offer excellent Sunday roasts served with seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Five Alls?

Five Alls nine stylish and comfy bedrooms were recently refurbished and are simply decorated in a calming, neutral palette with luxurious touches like crisp linen, duck down duvets, thick all-wool carpets, local interest books and guides, Nespresso coffee machines, mini fridges and Roberts radios.

There are four en-suite rooms above the pub with two Kingsize and two double bedrooms, and a further five, cottage-style rooms with super Kingsize beds to the rear of the garden, including a spacious Family Suite, accommodating two adults and up to three children. Two of the Cottage rooms are also dog-friendly, and include a Happy Dog hamper of duck bites, enrichment cards, adios poo bags and Earl Grey Hound (tea for dogs).

Bathrooms come with high spec limestone tiling and feature luxurious, walk-in showers and Bramley toiletries.

All rooms are bookable on a B&B basis. Breakfast includes Five Alls Full English and the very popular Bubble ‘n Squeak featuring streaky bacon and fried eggs.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Lechlade area?

Filkins is situated midway between the gorgeous Cotswolds village of  Burford, with its fine high street and independent shops, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Burford Garden Centre, while Lechlade, also offers good, independent shopping + kayak hire for exploring the Thames or walking along the Thames Path, while chocolate-box Bibury, Oxford and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock are about 20 miles away.
