What do you think makes a stay at The Bell at Ramsbury unique?
The Bell uses the incredible produce grown and produced right on its doorstep. The Ramsbury Estate distillery, three miles away, supplies The Bell with its own multi-award winning single estate grain vodka and gin, both made using the Estate’s own single field Horatio baker’s wheat and chalk-filtered spring water from its source. Ramsbury Gin is flavoured with nine botanicals grown on the estate, including quince.
Attached to the distillery is the much-loved Ramsbury Brewery. The Bell offers all four of the Brewery’s handcrafted, grain-to-glass beers on tap, using barley also grown on the Ramsbury estate and own-source, chalk-filtered water, including its best-seller, Gold Ale.
The estate also supplies The Bell's kitchen with its own Black Gold extra virgin cold pressed rapeseed oil extracted from its own Oil Press, while the Estate's Priory Farm kitchen garden delivers freshly picked, seasonal fruit, veg, herbs and flowers to the pub daily, along with air dried aged beef from the Ramsbury estate’s herd of South Devon Pedigree and Aberdeen Angus cattle, water meadow lamb and seasonally available game from the estate’s sustainably managed woodland.
The pub has a large bar area with two wood-burning stoves, space to drink and dine, and a snug with an open fire at its centre. Two light and sunny dining rooms overlook the pretty village green and high street.
Adjacent to the pub’s dining rooms is the quaint Café Bella. Popular with locals, this Arts & Crafts-style space offers counter dining overlooking the open kitchen, which serves breakfast, light snacks, pizza, and homemade cakes. French doors lead from the cafe onto a decked terrace to one side of the pub, and another door leads to a sunny patio with steps up to a landscaped beer garden.
Tastefully decorated throughout with natural flair, expect simple, chic, country style to enhance the pub's original features, from exposed beams, Ingenook fireplace and solid oak floors to original leadlight windows.
