Overview
Run by husband and wife team, Alasdair Clifford and Victoria Collins, the The Barrington Boar offers food and accommodation that is both casual and contemporary.
We have four stylish and simple en-suite bedrooms which are situated a few metres walk from the main building, in the pub’s original skittle alley - a feature typical of traditional West Country pubs of this period. The rooms are kitted out with plump pillows, crisp sheets and a clean, chic decor. Each room has a king size bed, large shower, flat screen TV and Wi-Fi. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, with tea from Miles in Porlock, Somerset, and homemade cookies from our kitchen. Championing local suppliers, we also stock hand sanitisers from Mary Temperley’s luxurious MAKE skincare range, which utilises her family’s cider brandy.
Guests can retire to their rooms after dinner for a comfortable night’s sleep and wake up to a proper breakfast, choosing from our (virtual for now) breakfast table and kitchen menu featuring home-cooked dishes and locally sourced produce.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 8am-9am Monday to Friday, and 8:30am-9:30am Saturdays and Sundays, with check-out by 11am.
The kitchen is run by Alasdair who grew up locally and has over ten years experience working in Michelin starred restaurants, including Chez Bruce, Harwood Arms and The Glasshouse. The menu focuses on refined comfort food using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, cooked with skill and passion. The pub focuses its drinks menu on South West produce, with a selection of local ales and ciders on tap, craft beers, local gins and English sparkling wines
Please note we don't serve food on Sunday night, Monday or Tuesday at the moment but if you are looking for somewhere to eat we can give you suggestions.
