Our stay at The Angel Inn in Petworth was first class. From the outset, we were met with such lovely, welcoming and helpful staff. The Angel is an absolute gem and so quintessentially 'English'. Our room was spotlessly clean and the decor and furnishings of an excellent standard. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here and all of our meals were superb (the vegetarian full English breakfast was top notch and the sandwiches the best we have eaten). Food and produce mileage is so important and The Angel Inn serves locally sourced food as well as providing complimentary toiletries made in Petworth (recommended). The Angel has a lovely atmosphere and the balance between the ancient past (this is a very old building) and the new comes together perfectly. The garden and outdoor seating/dining area is also quite lovely and we were lucky to have had sunny warm weather during our stay. Every member of staff was so helpful and we felt truly looked after from the moment we arrived and Will first showed us to our room. This is a first class inn of the highest standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here. viaT

We have just returned home from a two night stay at The Angel Inn. It is a really old quirky building but our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, especially William who is the Hotel manager. The food is excellent with quite generous portions. Breakfast was nicely cooked with a large choice of items. We would not hesitate to return. VivienH
