The Orkney Island town of Stromness is a busy place with a fishing harbour and ferry terminal which links Stromness to Gramesay and Hoy, with a further terminal just north of the centre with a link to mainland Scotland. A number of businesses in the town are linked to diving which is popular in the area for divers wishing to explore the remains of the German fleet scuttled in Scappa Flow in 1919.
