Cley Windmill is part of the following Inspirations:
"This one’s especially for bird lovers – because my goodness, the twitching potential here when the migrants arrive is wonderful. Spot the wheatears, the redstarts, the pied flycatchers, the red-backed shrikes and the barred warblers swooping and skirling as they arrive. Cley Windmill’s views over Blakeney Harbour and its resident seal community lift the spirits and remind you-you are many miles away from life’s stresses and strains. There are three rooms in the tower or opt for the former storerooms and miller’s accommodation. You can go for B&B or self-catering, or treat yourself in the gorgeous restaurant which serves up locally-sourced dishes."
"A windmill that you can stay in! With views over seal-clotted Blakeney Point – what is not to love? Cley Windmill has been on the map since the early 19th century but is decidedly 21st century in décor and service. There are three rooms in the actual tower or you can stay in the former store rooms and miller’s accommodation. Once you’ve got over the novelty of your lodgings, wander out to the shingle beach or bring your binocs and feast yourself on the wonderful birdlife that swoops and skirls over the saltmarshes towards Blakeney Harbour. Return at dinner for a three-course menu at 7.30pm at a small candle-lit table (tip – do not miss out on pre-ordering locally smoked kippers or haddock from the village smokehouse)."
"Something Unique. Fed up with run of the mill (no pun intended) wedding venues, and want to celebrate somewhere different to impress your guests? Clay Windmill is the perfectly quirky wedding venue with the ceremony usually taking place in the wonderful circular sitting room which dates back to 1713. Or, if the English weather prevails and you want to hold your ceremony outside with the Windmill standing proud in the background, then this is possible too. Dream team Sarah and Simon have a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude to wedding panning and will make the experience truly one to remember. You can even hire this location in its entirety to make the most of the experience."
"Quirky, mildly eccentric and a real local landmark. There are just nine bedrooms, some round, some beamed, all utterly delightful. Essentially, this is a B&B (there are also some self-catering cottages) with evening meals that celebrate classic English cooking. Guests get to enjoy a fabulous circular sitting room (with honesty bar) and staggering views across the marshes."
