THG is situated in the centre of the market town of Honiton in East Devon, just off the main A30 thoroughfare.

What is the history of Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) to the present day?

Thelma Hulbert Gallery is located in Elmfield House - a beautiful Georgian Townhouse in the centre of Honiton. It was the home and studio of artist Thelma Hulbert (Euston Road School) until 1995. In 1998 the first floor was opened as a public art gallery and subsequently moved to encompass the whole building a few years later. The gallery is owned and managed by East Devon District Council and supported by Arts Council England.

What is there to see and do at Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG)?

There is a changing programme of contemporary art and craft exhibitions and a collection of work by artist Thelma Hulbert. We host monthly family art activities and workshops as well as Adult workshops. Under 5's art sessions are held monthly. Twice a year we celebrate the national Museums at Night festival with after hours events.

Facilities: Full Disabled Access - disabled parking bay, ramp to door, wide access, seating in galleries, accessible toilets, platform lift, Guided Tours - please book in advance for group tours, Parking - two large pay & display car parks in front of gallery and disabled parking bay, Shop - showcasing best work of leading South West artists and makers

The Open exhibition is a delight with a wide range of interesting work. It is certainly worth a visit. The gallery is full of natural light and the staff are attentive and keen to help visitors.
