Back to Inspirations
It's not too late to take a break this Easter, there are still some charming self-catering properties available to book while school is out. Plus, there'll be plenty of fun for all the family wherever you choose to go. For Easter marks the beginning of the holiday season - this is the moment when attractions, from stately homes to theme parks, come out of winter hibernation and embrace the longer spring days. With all those bank holidays to claim, you can make your annual leave go just that little bit further, too, and give your family a proper break.
Newland Valley Log Cabins

A log cabin could provide the unusual venue for an Easter break, on the edge of Ulverston in Cumbria. Damson and Pear Tree are two traditionally built real log cabins, both with two bedrooms, sleeping four plus a cot. They make a great base for striking out into the invigorating Lake District landscape for families who love embracing the great outdoors.

Swan House

Calling all anglers. You can go fly-fishing in the spring-fed trout lake in the grounds of this country house - in fact, they'll even provide the rods. The Grade II-listed 17th-century retreat, which sleeps 12, is a sumptuous choice for an old-fashioned family holiday - there's even a grand piano to gather around in the evening.
