Perfect! Just back from a couple of nights stay at The George. Located right in the heart, looked very inviting, & as we walked in was greeted with lots of beautiful Christmas trees & decorations. It looked beautiful!!! 🎄🎄🎄 We received a very nice welcome & check in was done very quickly. We arrived at our room, no.43 on the top floor, I think it had been recently refurbished, it was lovely, very spacious, very comfy bed, tea/coffee making facilities, large shower, hairdryer, everything we needed in all fairness. We quickly changed & went out. There are so many pubs in the area!! Friendly locals & tourists, we had a couple of very enjoyable nights out. Breakfast.. couldn’t fault it, cooked to perfection. The staff were very polite, friendly & helpful. Very relaxing ambiance.. felt very comfortable here. I would love to bring my elderly mum here for the weekend, but I’m not sure if there is a lift, as she’s not too good on her feet. I couldn’t see one? Thankyou for a very enjoyable stay, we will definitely be returning -(Source Trip Advisor)

A great stay What a find, we only stayed for one evening but it was a pleasure. From the moment we arrived we were made most welcome, shown to our room, given local information and put at ease. The room was was great, a lovely comfy bed, plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits, the shower was lovely (with great quality toiletries), a wholesome, hearty breakfast in the morning sent us on our way...all in all, I would recommend the George 100%, well done to all at the George, you are a credit. -(Source Trip Advisor)

Perfect! Great staff who were all very attentive, pleasant, polite and helpful! Check was a breeze, room was lovely and clean with plenty of storage. A quaint old y worldly hotel we were made very welcome and with chocolates and a card to greet us as we were celebrating our golden anniversary as a treat from our kids. We had a fab stay and will definitely return - thank you to everybody involved! -(Source Trip Advisor)

Excellent We have stayed at The George several times previously. If you are after a 'box' in terms of a room then go to one of the chains. The George has character. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast superb, and a big thank you and 'well done' to the ladies who had done all the Christmas decorations. The hotel looked great. We shall return. -(Source Trip Advisor)
