Reviews

So pleased we have the chance of reviewing our recent Christmas stay at the THE ANGEL hotel in Bury St Edmund’s. We booked the three night Christmas package arriving on Christmas Eve for 3 nights. Well what can we say, from the warm welcome to our departure we had the most wonderful Christmas. We stayed in the well appointed and comfortable Ivy View room overlooking the square. The staff throughout our stay were courteous friendly and welcoming. They gave us a Christmas to remember. The food was A M A Z I N G …… The hotel is ideally situated near the town centre and opposite the Cathedral where we experienced midnight mass in Christmas Eve. All in all we had the most wonderful Christmas. Thank you to all the staff at the Angel hotel.

A wonderful stay again! I cannot rate the Angel highly enough. The entire team are friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. Assistance with getting our group booking correct for rooms and meals, was a great help, ensuring everything was perfect. Upon arrival, a lovely welcome at reception, efficient support with parking and luggage, great food, vibrant bar and an open fire. The rooms are clean and beds super comfortable. Looking forward to returning soon.

Lovely hotel, looks great inside and out. Mainly came as I'm a big Charles Dickens fan and he stayed here and it also appears in the Pickwick Papers. A Blue Plaque was installed on the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth to commemorate his visits to Bury St Edmunds and a thank you to the man who featured the former coaching inn and the town in his book The Pickwick Papers.
