The Horn of Plenty has 16 ensuite bedrooms. Main House rooms are traditional with high ceilings, big windows and a contemporary twist. Original Coach House rooms are country in style, whilst New Coach House rooms are large and contemporary. Most bedrooms have balconies overlooking the Tamar Valley, the walled garden and/ or the Devon/Cornwall countryside.
What can guests enjoy when staying in the Tavistock area?
Tavistock is an ancient Stannary town, with a host of independent shops and a newly refurbished Pannier Market. The area is well located for National Trust houses and lovely gardens (Cotehele, Buckland Abbey, The Garden House). Miles of Tamar Valley trails are located at the bottom of the garden, whilst the expanse of Dartmoor is just a 10-minute drive.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
The Horn of Plenty's restaurant has been renowned as one of Devon's finest for over 50 years and boasts 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence. The original founder was the first lady to ever be awarded a Michelin star! Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily. Menus are local and seasonal, with 90% of produce sourced from the West Country. Light meals are available in the library. For breakfast, guests can choose from full English, a continental option, or a wide range of other choices. Further afield there are a host of good pubs and restaurants, both in Tavistock and around Dartmoor.
The Horn of Plenty is located just outside Tavistock, a 45-minute drive from Exeter and from Plymouth.
