The George Townhouse, Shipston-on-Stour

History

The George Townhouse has been around for as long as anyone can remember, but in early 2016 the hotel was treated to a huge makeover including all 15 en-suite bedrooms.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is available for guests at an additional charge. Breakfast is served Mon-Sun 8.00am to 11.00am.

The George Townhouse also has a restaurant offering Lunch & Dinner, which is served Mon – Fri: 12pm -3pm & 6pm – 9.30pm, Sat 12pm – 9.30pm and Sun 11.30am – 8pm.

The carefully selected bar range has a wide variety of high-quality drinks to suit all tastes. Offering spirits, beers and wines from all over the world, as well as locally made beer and spirits. The beer range includes Brakspear Bitter and Brakspear Oxford Gold. These two Brakspear classics are brewed at the Wychwood Brewery in Witney, only a 40-minute drive from Shipston on Stour, en route to Oxford.

Grounds & Gardens

Offering a terrace area, guest can also enjoy the warmer weather by dining outside.

The George Townhouse has fifteen wonderfully comfy en-suite rooms. All rooms come with:

• A kingsize bed boasting a Feather & Black mattress and bed frame that promises a relaxing night’s sleep.
• Luxurious en suite bathrooms with rainfall showers and Temple Spa toiletries.
• Wall-mounted 26″ TV with digital Freeview, free WiFi and an alarm clock.
• Nespresso coffee machine and kettle with a selection of Canton Tea Co drinks, to wake you up first thing in the morning, as well as still and sparkling water. Fresh milk is available from the bar too.
• Blackout blinds or curtains for an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

The George Townhouse is an ideal base for any cyclists looking conquer the Cotswolds and Warwickshire. The hotel also has somewhere dry and secure to keep guests bikes whilst staying at the hotel.
