Soar Mill Cove Hotel & Self Catering is part of the following Inspirations:
"Once you’ve been to Soarmill, you kind of always want to return. Is it the flower-festooned valley that it sits in? The fact you can stroll through this to the hotel’s own beach? Or the ridiculously romantic views out to sea? Hiking couples will adore this spot on the South West Coast Path but even if you’re more Miu Miu than mintcake, Soarmill will still enchant you. Think rockpooling, shallow sea swimming or curling up with afternoon tea at the picture windows. Want to take Fido with you? There’s even a small kitchenette where you can prepare your pooch’s meals before heading off for West Country Rib Eye of Cornish hake in the floor-to-ceiling seaview windowed dining room. Cheers!"
"Priding itself on being guided by the needs of the owners’ kids, Soar Mill is a bit of a haven for children young and old (after all – there aren’t many places that offer Sunday teatime chocolate fountains in the school hols). The kitchen will do smaller versions of all the adult menu options and there are plenty of toys, books and games scattered around this relaxed hotel to keep them busy once they’ve finished eating (so you can enjoy your dinner in peace). For parents of tinies, there’s an early kids’ teatime too."

|Local directions:||Shortly after Exeter the M5 changes name to the A38 which is a near motorway standard 'A' road, you will notice little difference but the name. About 15 miles along the A38 towards Plymouth you will come to the junction for TOTNES, KINGSBRIDGE & SALCOMBE at which you must turn off left along the A384. When you reach TOTNES on the A384 at the beginning of the town at traffic lights, turn right onto the A381, which is signposted KINGSBRIDGE. BEFORE YOU REACH KINGSBRIDGE (If you see a sign before Kingsbridge, IGNORE IT. There is a small roundabout, do not turn right, but go straight on whatever the sign says). At KINGSBRIDGE go into the town and on reaching the roundabout turn right towards SALCOMBE, still on the A381. Four miles along the road after Kingsbridge you will reach MALBOROUGH village. Here you should leave the A381 and turn sharp right which is signposted SOAR, pass through the village and after the church bear left which is also signposted SOAR. It is then just 2 miles to the hotel passing three more signs.|

Review of Soar Mill Cove Hotel & Self Catering

This is a super hotel. There is a can-do ethos from all members of staff. The owner is very visible. There is a wonderful lack of chintz and bossy rules, regulations and signs. Food is excellent, lovely indoor pool, stunning location on National Trust coastline. If you can, book a sea-view room.
