The Salthouse Harbour Hotel Suffolk goes beyond what you expect and exudes its 4 star status in every curious corner, eccentric sofa and unstuffy cushion. The sea-salted brickwork exterior has been restored & rejuvenated into a ship shape contemporary warehouse of rich modern interiors and rooms adorned with vintage furniture, sculptures and eclectic art. Within its comfy chic décor although the mood is friendly and relaxed, the staff are professionally attentive to your every need. The cuisine is exciting and its popularity fills this delightful waterfront Eaterie as soon as the tables are laid.

Salthouse Harbour Hotel also has a Restaurant:

Salthouse Harbour Eaterie (Restaurant Section)

Salthouse Harbour Hotel is part of the following Inspirations:

Ten of the Best British Beach-side Hotels by Dinah Hatch

"Hugely luxuriant and decadent (who can resist a copper roll top bath?), the Salthouse sits on the harbour in Ipswich and positively exudes urban sophistication, from the mood-lighting and citrus sofas to the miles and miles of yacht masts that make up your view. This former warehouse has garnered some serious style awards in recent years – you only have to pop up to the penthouse to admire the outrageously cool floor to ceiling windows with birds eye views of the boats bobbing around outside to realise someone thought very hard about the layout of this place. Admittedly, a dip in the harbour is ill-advised but you’ve a sprinkling of lovely unspoilt beaches a cycle ride away."

Review of Salthouse Harbour Hotel

Posted on by Elaine RCustomer stayed Jul 2012

We like to take our dog, who is a beautifully behaved lurcher, with us when we go away. So often we are shown to a room on the ground floor with no view and made to pay extra for the privilege of an inferior room. The Salthouse Harbour Hotel gave us a beautiful room with a stunning view, the staff were friendly and unobtrusive which resulted in a thoroughly relaxing stay.

Excellent place to stay, overlooking the marina. Great to watch the world go by. Really helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return.
