Overview

Described as ‘UK’s Sexiest Townhouse Hotel’ by the Evening Standard, The Roseate Reading is recognised for its artful conception and luxury. The hotel prides itself on its attention to detail, an attitude that is realised from the hotel personnel to the facilities available to make your stay cherished and memorable.

What makes a stay at The Roseate unique?

Whether it is the 86,000 Italian glass beads in the chandelier that hangs from the top of the building or the plush fabrics and swanky wallpapers, the meticulous design sense is ubiquitous in maintaining an uplifted ambience. The Roseate Reading was originally Shire Hall for the Berkshire County Council. The building, along with its wide hallways, vaulted ceilings, cornice mouldings and the original lift shaft have all been precisely restored to their original glory. To revive the old world charm of the Shire Hall, its council chamber, Eden along with its imposing fireplace and elaborate wood carvings on the doors and mantlepiece have all been restored to their past beauty.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Roseate?

The Roseate Reading houses 23 well appointed luxury rooms in the main hotel and 32 rooms and suites in the newly built and furnished ‘House’. All rooms and suites in the ‘House’ have direct access to Aheli Spa, the gym and Roasted by Roseate, the in house patisserie & boulangerie. Each room has a perfect mixture of art, lighting, sound and comfort. Every en-suite bedroom is equipped with Penhaligon’s amenities and a Nespresso coffee machine. This blend of luxury and fervour permeates throughout the hotel and goes beyond amenities and décor.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Reading area?

Located in the Thames Valley at the confluence of the River Thames and River Kennet, Reading is a historic Minster town in Berkshire, England. There are a plethora of must visit places in and around this thriving town.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Situated within The Roseate Reading hotel, The Reading Room Restaurant & Bar offers stylish and contemporary décor with warm mood lighting. Located in the heart of Reading, it’s convenient and easily accessible location makes it one of the top spots for dining out and cocktails in town. With its sophisticated atmosphere and superb modern European cuisine prepared using the best local ingredients, sourced by The Roseate Reading’s award winning chefs, the seasonal a-la-carte menu ensures guests have a flavour filled dining experience. The seasonal menu and dishes are regularly updated, to showcase the finest produce of the current season from across the south of England. The Reading Room menu offers something to suit all tastes, including fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes with remarkable creativity. The vibey bar features panelled glass displays and secluded enclave seating, creating a sense of distinction to match its exquisite and contemporary drinks offering. Despite an extensive list of classics cocktails, tasteful creativity defines the mixology of the bar. Seasonal specials showcase a single spirit whisky, which might appear long and light with pineapple juice and lemon, or as a flambéed after-dinner drink with coffee beans and chocolate liqueur.
