Overview

Drakes is one of the original luxury boutique hotels in Brighton. Now open ten years old, Drakes has not lost any of its edginess and city chic. Sitting directly on the seafront with fabulous views of the iconic Brighton Pier, their discreet sign (which you may miss) says everything about this place. They're not into flashy displays at this double-fronted listed Georgian townhouse, and most people who stay here (Kylie Minogue included) have been recommended by someone in the know. Rooms are spectacularly stylish, most with free-standing baths in front of large picture windows (the best views from the first floor rooms), with luscious handmade beds covered in Goose Down duvets, White Company products, glossy magazines by the bed and divine interiors. On request, a bubble bath can be run for your arrival, and a selection of fabulous extras can be ordered to enhance your stay (rose petals scattered in the bath, chocolate-dipped strawberries, a chilled bottle of champagne or perhaps a seductive Love Hamper
